Easy Pickles, Anytime!

No Canning, No Kidding: Refrigerator Pickles Made Easy

Don't stress over jars — old pickle jars, jam jars, even a mayo jar work fine, just wash well and make sure the lid seals tight. Fresh dill gives the prettiest jar and brightest flavor, but dried dill (about a third the amount) works too. Same with garlic — fresh smashed cloves pack the most punch, but jarred minced is fine in a pinch. Don't skip the ice water soak before slicing your cucumbers — that's your crunch secret. And give them at least 24 hours in the fridge before digging in; that's when the flavor really kicks in.
